There was an interesting party I attended last Tuesday. We celebrated Thanksgiving Day during seminar class at school cafeteria. For that party, my teacher Jessica told us to bring some native food to share with others. It was too hard for me to cook some tasteful food, so I planned to buy some delicious Chinese dishes. At first I came up with an idea to buy some dumplings and boil them. But I thought it was a stupid idea because there were many Chinese in my classes. Dumplings must have been planned to show up in the party. After all I decided to order several spring rolls from the nearest Chinese restaurant. They were made of pork, prawn and some vegetables. The smell was so attractive that I couldn’t wait but ate one in the evening before the party day.
In the party, all of us sat around a big table in cafeteria. Our classmates brought lots of beautiful and delicious food. Many kinds of them were new to me, such as some Columbia candies, Italian cakes. One of my classmates came from South Korea; she cooked three dishes by herself: sushi, pickled vegetables and raw salmon. Obviously, she was good at cooking.
My spring rolls were very popular in the party; all of my classmates liked them. A Vietnamese classmate told me that the spring rolls were also widespread in her country. Viet Nam is our neighbor on the south, we have many similar food. The most interesting food in the party was the Italian cakes. They looked same as the common cakes, but the taste was very different from others. When you put a piece of cake into your mouth, you feel as smooth as silk. And then the cake would melt soon, and it tasted sweet and appetizing.
After the party, all of us started to take pictures with each other. Some of my friends and I took an unforgettable picture together. We stood together and put our arms on the neighbors’ shoulders to form a circle. We put the camera at the center of us on the ground, the picture turned out to be very funny.

Hi William,
ReplyDeleteSo, you sneaked a spring roll before the party, huh:)? Actually, I bet you weren't the only one. I think I ate plenty of cranberry sauce the night before myself...I agree, people cooked some amazing dishes! Perhaps I can get Ellen to give me some cooking lessons...
Thanks for the nice post,
Jessica
